What is volumetric weight and why does it matter?
Volumetric (dimensional) weight is Length × Width × Height in centimetres ÷ 5000 (IATA air standard). Carriers bill the greater of actual gross weight and volumetric weight as chargeable weight, so bulky light packages can cost more than their scale weight suggests. Enter dimensions in the calculator so the estimate reflects chargeable weight.
Does the estimate include DDP or duties?
Duties and DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) are scoped in a custom quote — they are not assumed in the rough calculator estimate. Use the calculator for freight planning, then request a DDP quote if you need duty-paid door delivery without surprise destination charges.
